Experiential

I am committed to a style of ministry that is Experiential
People need to not just hear words about Jesus, but feel His presence in their lives.

The Great Banquet retreat is a 3-day experience for people to come to know the love and grace of Jesus Christ in their lives. Through personal testimonies, singing, and worshipful experiences in a loving community, guests come to know God personally in a whole new way.

I excel at creating experiential worship services. To reach this generation, worship needs to engage multiple senses at the same time... Sight, smell, touch, hearing and taste- you can use all your senses to experience God.

For a recent worship service, I preached about our hunger for God and the things we fill our lives with other than Him. Using Rob Bell's image from his NOOMA video "Shells", I invited worshipers to fill their hands with shells (provided in each pew) as we spent time praying about those things we fill our lives with. I invited people to come forward, to dump their shells at the front of the sanctuary as a symbol of giving those things to God.

This last Ash Wednesday, I wanted our congregation to experience more than just one hour of God's presence in a worship service. I wanted to give them a chance to experience God's presence with them all day long. So I created a 12-Hour Fasting and Prayer Guide for the day. People could get this guide in paper form or follow the blog throughout the day. Check it out...
