We're always in a crowd, yet we we are desperately lonely. We long for authentic, transparent relationships with others. If we are going to BELIEVE, we must first know that we BELONG. Our faith must be Communal.
In my four years at FPC, I've trained and equipped dozens of small group leaders to create and lead groups that connect people to God and one another. Groups of all ages and interests meet at various times and places throughout the week, giving people opportunities to know and be known in real, lasting relationships.
I have led and launched half a dozen intensive, reproducible Discipleship Groups. In these groups, members share their life-stories, study God's Word, learn to pray, and discover their own gifts for ministry, culminating with each member starting and leading their own Discipleship Group.
Life needs to have a little fun in it, so I've planned all kinds of fellowship events, bringing people together around a table to share life and good food. Events such as Trivia Nights, Theology at the Movies, a ladies' pajama party and others have brought people together for fun and new friendships.
